Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of global business networking website ‘ecademy’, Penny Power, was looking for a design agency to assist her in the branding of her pioneering apprenticeship scheme The Digital Youth Academy.

Having provided web design services for ecademy, and with a referral an existing client, Morbean were appointed to run a brand workshop with the key stakeholders in the business before developing creative assets including a logo, stationery, marketing collateral and brand guidelines to assist the design of further marketing materials.

Aimed at providing a generation of Britain’s youth who were ‘born digital’ with a viable way of applying their natural digital skills to business, The Digital Youth Academy was established to provide and nation-wide apprenticeship scheme focussed on reducing youth unemployment.

Whilst the brand needed to be enticing and exciting to engage youthful candidates, it was essential that it was also professional and trustworthy in order to attract businesses and show them the value these apprentices bring.

Morbean developed the strapline ‘Connecting the Digital Generation to Business’ before designing the corporate identity and supporting marketing collateral. The logo design was clear and vibrant and the concept of the unravelling ribbon was chosen to support the brands ideal of ‘unfolding new futures’.

Since launch The Digital Youth Academy has gone from strength to strength. Partnering with over 10 learning institutions, they now offer over 100 Social Digital Apprenticeship vacancies across the UK.
